Compliance with PNSY mechanical system requirements is required. This project will provide alternative heating systems for the buildings removed from the central steam system. The components found within the Scope of Work for this project include the demolition of steam heating equipment and the addition of natural gas-fired hot water boilers serving the following buildings:

- Building 31

- Building 32

- Building M-1-2-3

- Building M-4

In addition to the four buildings listed above, work will be necessary in Building 27 to terminate the existing steam service that currently serves all of these buildings. All buildings involved in this project are contributing resources to the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Historic district, and therefore considered historic buildings. In addition, these buildings and any required excavation work are located within an area of archeological sensitivity; archeological monitoring shall be required.
